#4: Mi Padre

Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there!

Yes, this may be a late salutation but it is one nonetheless.

Today I celebrated my father who just yesterday had a near death experience. One of the worst feelings is that of hopelessness. When you desire to do something but instead feel that your hands are tied. That is how I felt yesterday, and in that moment, I realized how important life is and how I am not ready to lose my father.

We all have loved ones, and in the midst of daily tasks we can easily take for granted those who are around us. One argument and we are quick to vow that we will NEVER speak to them again. Yet, if they were to die, our lives would never be the same. My father is ok now and I thank God!

I love my father and I am nowhere near saying goodbye. So friends, if there is a family member, uncle or friend that you wrote off yesterday, call or tweet them( whatever suits your fancy). Life is honestly to short. The older I get the more I realize the gravity of that statement.

So what are we waiting for? Lets pick up our smart-phones and begin texting or tweeting that cousin who in seventh grade snitched on us. We’re grown up now, and its time we spoke to them. I am sure they had a good reason.
